Today was a windy day and not one for fishing in the Gulf. Wes, Craig and I fished Fiddler's Creek instead. Here is the craft that all three of us fished in for the afternoon. What's even more scary is that some of the alligators in the Creek are bigger than this boat. Visions of Captain Hook "Tick Tock".
skimmer > We jumped three tarpon between 20 and 40 pounds but couldn't get one to the boat. Here is Wes with a snook about 20 to 25 pounds. I love it because as he is holding the fish for the picture, it clamped down on his finger, consequently the funny face.
skimmer > Snook don't often jump but in the creek they go airborne all the time. Here is Wes's big snook going ballistic with airborne acrobatics. It was a great thrill and a great fight.
skimmer > Florida is filled with wildlife. Here is a bald eagle watching us fish in the Creek. There was a pair of them in the tree but one left before I could shoot the photo.
skimmer > We often troll the edges of the Creek with Rattle Traps and score with nice Largemouth Bass. Here is Craig with a good bass, one of three that we caught today. I don't know who looks better, the fish or Craig.

This is me just two hours after landing in Fort Meyers. Wes got the big bass and I caught the big snook for the afternoon of fishing. This fish was taken on a live shiner. It took about 10 minutes to get it to the boat. I was using light spinning tackle. I estimate its weight at about 20 pounds. What a blast. I was also working on my tan as you can see.

This is Wes Little with a huge largemouth bass. The fish went about 6 pounds, maybe a bit more. We were fishing in Fiddler's Creek which is a brackish body of water right on the property of Wes's condo complex. It is loaded with bass, snook, tarpon and all sorts of other cool fish. We have had tarpon to 50 pounda and snook over 20 pounds. This is the largest bass to date. We fish in a collapsible rubber boat. There are lots of big alligators in this creek which makes for some interesting moments.
