Ken Tronti and Tom (the machine) Goettelmann fished hard in the rain Saturday night and scored with 5 Bass to 39 pounds. The bass were caught in the inlet area on the ebb tide on Eels.
I read Gary Arnolds fishing report so I decided to see what we could do this week in the Locojo. A little friendly fishing competition with some good friends on Special K’s is good for all. Fished Wednesday evening with Mike Sacca and we had 4 fish to 25 lbs. Had the fish at the very end of the tide. Called my good buddies in but the final score was four to zip. Oh well rather be lucky than good. Let me tell you that Mike can handle a knife pretty well for a surgeon, great fillet work!
Thursday I had my Amgen teammates on the water with me. A much better looking crew than the usual offshore crew, sorry CM and GA. We had only two fish, one on a plug and one on live bait. Check out the pictures of the fish it’s a big one well worth the wait!! oh and the picture of the crew even better! We were short one crew member as the rips were getting the best of one who spent the day at captree. Great couple of days on the water, fishing is spotty but it’s got to turn on soon. If anyone is going to find them it will be captain Al.
See you on the water!

Pete Mercier after 40 plus years of fishing finally got his 50 pound Bass on a live bunker fishing pods early Wednesday morning with his two grandsons Jake and Max aboard. We boated over 16 fish with many fish near 40 lbs being released. Simply the best day we ever head!

My son Sean and I went out for the fluke re-opener on July 3; Got a late start and it was slack tide in the bay by the time we got out; we headed for the ocean and set up pretty deep in 75 ft of water -- we caught a keeper fluke and a couple of dog fish but it wasn't really happening. We gave it a quick shot looking for bunker schools off the beach but no luck; We came back inside to fish the afternoon floodtide;
With a pretty stout west wind and a strong incoming tide our drift was really fast. That seemed to be the ticket as we quickly limited out on fluke; Every fish we caught was a keeper and we threw 3 or 4 keepers back. We hit all the spots from Demo back in to the coast guard station. There were a few fish in all the spots and they were really on the Bite. The Picture is Sean with his two 22" fluke.

Saturday June 20, 2009 was a whaler rendezvous which was to start at the Statue of Liberty and circumnavigate Manhattan Island. From there we were to travel to New Rochelle for a barbeque. There where a number of different meeting points that boat owners where to meet and from there travel to the Statue of Liberty in NY Harbor to begin are flotilla. One of the meeting places was under the Throgs Neck Bridge. Being familiar with these waters I decided to get there a little early and try bass fishing some of my favorite spots in Manhasset bay. Well my efforts where rewarded with large schools of bunker moving threw the area being pushed by some nice size stripers. The photo was 1 of 3 fish caught that morning weighing in at 32lbs.I decided to keep one and take this photo in front of the Statue to the delights of some 60 Boston Whalers owners and there crew.

Saturday morning June 13, took my 10 year old son Sean out to the reef for some fluke and sea bass; Caught 2 keeper fluke, 2 keeper sea bass and a whole bunch of shorts , with some dog fish and skates in the mix ; Sean just loves having a bend in his rod; On the way back in we hit the inlet with some live bait; Drifted the same line I took with Capt. Al on thursday; First drop nailed a nice 35 lb bass; 2nd drop got bluefished; Sean had a friend coming over at noon so we had to beat it for the barn; Not bad for 3 hrs fishing; Sean had a great time.

A great ending to a beautiful season in Florida. 10 Mahi on the last tripwith the big guy topping 50lbs. The fish were caught in the offshore watersof Stuart Florida, Sunday May 24, 2009. Although the fish was caught by Sr.angler Paul Krause, it all happened with the help of an excellent gaff man, Kevin Krause (holding head of fish), and the crew of Rob Mailland (blueshirt), and John Albers. To bad the tournament for the day was cancelled dueto threatening weather.
