I fished today with Marc Cacchiola and his buddy Tony.
It was a fun day with two good fishermen even though the weather was lousy.
We caught six fish up to about 23 pounds with three on bait and three on plugs.
Conditions were real tough with wind against tide and then wind with tide so you were not drifting or going like a rocket.
We managed to figure things out and had a nice catch of fish.
Here is one of Tony's two fish on plugs. He did real well with working the plug and attracting the fish.
The fish were a little funny today and would come to the plug but not inhale it.
You had to work it right for the fish to eat.
Marc and Tony both had fish on bait and plugs so it was a fruitful day and another good day on the water.

Back in July Robert Highland and his girlfriend Jill Fifield won the fishing trip with Captain Al at the 10 year skimmeroutdoors anniversary party on Fire Island. Unfortunately the weather today didn't cooperate as well as it did the day of the party. Despite the rain and wind the pair had a great day of fishing. Robert's 22 lbs. Bass was caught on a Gibbs Danny plug using an Augie's custom "Rogue" rod and Pfleuger spinning reel with 20 pounds Sufix hi-vis line.

I had the chance today get some great action shots of the Gibbs Daddy Plug on the surface. Here is Bob's Striper crashing the plug.

Jill was high hook on bait. She did't miss and make a great hook set. The fight was very tough today with a wicked wind against tide situation.
The fish was always heading under the boat but she prevailed and caught some nice fish.
The weather left a lot to be desired but the fishing was good.
When the rain came in the afternoon we decided to cut the day a little short.
Another memorable day on the water and to Jill and Bob congratulations on winning this trip. It was a pleasure to fish with you.

I fished today with a real crew of crazy fishermen. My good buddy Chris Madonia , Marty and Gerard, right to left.
We had a very excellent day of striped bass fishing with live bait and plugs.
Marty was the hot hand in the morning and Chris was the killer in the afternoon. Gerard held his own and connected with a couple of fish. A lot of swings and missed but in the end he prevailed. Also, just to be fair to Gerard, he was a great help with netting the bait in the morning.
We had 11 fish up to 35 pounds and three in the 30's. Two fish on plugs about 20 pounds.
You can tell by the smiles that it was a good day.
I had a great time as these guys really help out with all the work and make my day a pleasure and filled with a lot of laughs.
What can I say Chris? Another great day on the water with great guys.

Here is another photo forwarded from Jimmy Jerome.
He was fishing his "Boat" and took this shot of me, Ivan, Steve and Ken working plugs.
As you can see even in a quiet place there were boats running all over the good fishing grounds.
Nice shot Jimmy and thanks.
