We arrived on the island of San Cristobal around noon time and with all the travel I can’t believe that we are only one hour difference in time from the east coast of the states. The Areogal flight from Guayaquil to San Cristobal is a little over an hour from the coast of Ecuador.

This is the Hotel Bella Vista that has a great view of the harbor. You can hear the Sea lions from the rooms. The weather is fantastic with temps in the high seventies. I will do my best to post reports but the internet service here can be unreliable at times.

Not only was the Fishing superb so was the ceviche that was made by Rosita of Rosita’s Restaurant. Ceviche is seafood or fish that is marinated in lime juice and other spices and is very popular in Galapagos Islands.

The secret is out… the Galapagos is probably has the best Marlin fishing on the planet. Today we boated 7 Marlin to 250 pounds. We had 3 Blue Marlin, 4 Striped Marlin and countless strikes and knock downs. The sea life in this area is amazing Dolphins, Sea Turtles and Sea Lions were feeding on the bait schools all day along with the Marlin. Scott and I witnessed a very large splash followed by Dolphin jumping twenty feet in the air the huge splash may have been a Killer Whale chasing down a Dolphin for a snack.

Pedro Zapata is the mayor of San Cristobal and was excited to share with us his vision of the new water front project of Puerto Baqueziro Moreno. He is also instrumental in the promotion of the Marlin fishery of San Cristoble. Not only can you come here to see great wildlife and meet friendly people, but you can fish what may be the best Marlin fishing on the planet.
