I hunted with Jim Conte and Bill MacDougal out of Bill's floating blind.
Here is Bill collecting a bird or two.
His great female Labrador "Bridie" made some incredible retrieves at long distances. She sat still in the blind and was fabulous.
Here we have Jim and Bill waiting for some birds.
The weather was perfect with wind, snow and cold so the ducks and brant were flying.
We bagges a good bunch of brant and a couple of buffleheads and black duck.
Another great day on the water.

I hunted with Jim Conte today and we had a good time with the seaducks.
It was a lot of shooting, long shots and some birds for the bag but lots of misses.
Down to my last three shells I went zero for two on this passing shot on an oldsquaw.
And zero for one on this right to left at about 40 yards on another oldsquaw. Out of shells now and day over.
We had a good time and the weather and ocean were beautiful
Another great day on the water.

A wrap up of the day as done by Jimmy Hahn as only he can do.

I hunted today with Jim Hahn and his good buddy Phil. Jimmy is the manager of the "Riverview" restaurant and also runs the "Riverview Striped Bass Tournament" in addition to being an avid fisherman and hunter.
We had a good shoot on West Island.
The wind was blowing hard and some ducks were flying.
Jimmy bagged a pair of big mallards and Phil got a huge black duck. I was very lucky to bag a redhead drake which I think I will have mounted.
It was a memorable hunt with two great guys sharing some great stories and some excellent hunting.
Another great day on the water.
The next photo is a link to some video I shot at the end of out hunt, give it a look and please don't mind the wind noise, it was blowing about 30 today.

Jim Conte and I hunted today on an exploratory mission. We tried out his big water kayak and used it to work the rig and pick up birds.
We went out without expecting much but had a good shoot in spite of our lack of committment.
We bagged two mallards and two black duck and could have many more shots at black duck but had our limit of two.
I missed a pair of mallards but on a long shot.
Jimmy dropped a pair of mallards but lost the drake in the thick fragmites. It was impossible to see more than five feet and we never did find the bird.
The ocean Kayak worked great for retireving the birds and tending the rig.
Another excellent day on the water.

I hunted today with Jim Conte and Buddy Cipoletti.
We did an ocean seaduck hunt and had a good time with the birds. We bagged both oldsquaw and surf scoters. Here is Buddy holding a mature surf scoter.
It was a good day on the water and the elements treated us well.

I hunted this morning with Jim Conte and Pete Johnston.
We had a great shoot bagging some mallards and a limit of real big local Canadian geese.
The conditions were right with rain and wind and the birds came real good.
A great hunt!
