I believe this is Cody's second deer, a nine pointer taken with buckshot again in Virginia and this was taken on Cody's first time alone in a deer stand.

I hunted a few times this past week. Buddy Cipoletti made a couple of trips with me and had a great time. Here is Buddy with a few broadbill and buffleheads that we bagged on a lay-out boat shoot.

This is a nice shot of the lay-out boat and the spread of decoys on a glassed out morning on the Great South Bay. The rig looks good and when the wind came up the ducks came pretty well to the set up.

Jim Conte, Pete Johnston and I did a little sea duck hunt in the ocean along the South Shore of Long Island. We went out on Tim Smith's Cape Dory and enjoyed lots of comfort on a beautiful day. We also had some nice gunning. Jimmy and I are taking a couple of pretty long shots but we did knock down one of these birds.

Here are a couple of white wing scooters that made us miss. Notice the shot hitting the water below the birds. These guys won and rightly so. They were fast and outran us. Great still shot by Tim.

This is a great shot of the birds coming in like a rocket. These birds have very thick feathers and are big and very tough. You have to make a great shot and a direct hit to bring them down. We had a great time with a lot of shooting and did bag a few birds. Best of all was the weather which was beautiful.

Pete Johnston can really make some great game dishes. We feasted on venison stew. Here I am with a nice bowl of stew which we heated on the stove in Tim's boat. We had all the comforts of home and a very enjoyable day on the water.

I hunted today with Pete Johnston and Jimmy Conte. We set up for sea ducks in the ocean. It was a good shoot with ducks coming pretty good. Not as good as last week but we had a lot of fun with scooters. Here is Pete and me with some of our birds.
