After a slow start to the season big Fluke have really moved in to
the Fire Island waters south of the inlet. Yesterday, My cousin and
I fished for two hours at the change of tide. It was hot and the
flies were vicious but we didn't care as we pulled in a steady stream
of keeper Fluke. I guess the annual growing keeper limit is paying
off because these fish are fat!. Two hours of fishing produced 6
keepers 19 to 25.5 inches. Best two hours of fishing this year (next
to the three big Stripers we caught with Captain Al.)
