He could see a couple of bull sharks cruising up, through the wake, behind the boat. BANG the fight was over, the line went slack, the shark had made a meal of my wahoo!! I estimated it would have been about 60lbs if I had landed it whole! These pictures really sum up the kind of season I had! Hopefully 2008 brings me more luck.

11/2/2007- Backside of Captree Island-Doug Lange

A nice woody taken on a rather slow day. Without much action we decided to grass up the boat a bit and much to my surprise woody came calling.

Fished live bunker in the back bay with Capt. Al's proven live bait rig and was rewarded with some nice size Bass today 10/20. I kept this 22 lb. fish for the table. Wind was whipping out the the west and had incoming tide. Big Bass were pounding the bunker pods.

Tried for Mako's at 20 fathoms on sept 21.Caught and released this est 90 to 100 lb white marlin on a mackerel filet.12 year old Cody Giarraputo was on the rod and John Dunn did a great job of billing his first marlin.We also caught a 18 lb Mahi on a mackerel,no other bites for the day

I went early this afternoon with my son Luke (3 and 1/2 years old) in search of Weakfish. We were rewarded with 8 fish up to 22 inches, we kept 3 for the table and released the rest. We also dropped a few. Luke was drifting sandworms and I was using red Jellyworms. We had the last of the incoming and the action died down at slack water. Conditions were calm and a little foggy. We fished the Lighthouse area..

We decided to do an offshore trip and fished the Dip leaving the dock at 12:00pm on Sunday. We ran right to the water break just west of the Dip and decided to set up and troll once we marked some good bait. I fished with Sal Lacasio, Chris Madonia, Marty Pape, Justin Mack and Alan Donelly on Alan's 41' Viking.

In less then 10 minutes we had several Yellowfin in the boat up to 50lbs. We continued trolling the area and saw Yellowfin and Albacore busting the water on the feed. This lasted until night fall , we started chunking at 9:00pm and it took a while to get the fish behind the boat. Bait was plentiful with tons of squid in the water.

The baitstick you guys sold us continues to work great. On final count we had 13 Yellowfin, 2 Albacore, 2 nice Mahi's and a small White Marlin. We also dropped a nice big swordfish. The canyon water is crystal clear and it was a great trip with some great guys. -- Gary Arnold
