Oct 5-7 The last few days have been fun fishing the bunker pods in the bay and outside.I have been fishing with my buddy Eddie Maher.
We boated some nice Bass and big Blues. All fish caught with Al's proven live bait rig then released to fight another day. Things are heating up!
Rich Figlia.
Went 2 for 4 on bigeyes Monday fishing the SW corner of Hudson Canyon. Fish weighed of 165 and 126 lbs.
To steal a line from Capt Al, “It was a beautiful day on the water, with great fishing and even better company.”
Thanks to Capt Brian of the Under Dog for making it happen.

I went fishing this morning with my good friend Dennis . We left the dock on his 25 Ft Steiger about 0815 hours and started out fishing by 0900 in 60 ft of water between the Robert Moses Water Tower and the lighthouse away from the fleet. No wind to start but we had a slow drift. The bite was very good for a couple of hours but slowed considerably as the day progressed. We caught at least 4 dozen fluke between us using squid strips and spearing. A large number of birds were excitingly working the surface but we could not see any distubances. The birds were moving fast so there may have been false albacore or bonita chasing the bait. The highlight of the day was a large pod of porpoise that passed a few hundred feet behind the boat. We finished the day with three keepers to 8 lbs. Another great day on the water.

Went out with Wil Tregarthen and Damian Zusi last night in Montauk for some full moon basin. Wil trailered his boat, Capt. Surly. We had a lotta fun in the rips on the out going tide, landed 3 bass, all in the thirties. Capt. Wil won the pool with a 36 pounder.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

This is Erin Mcgrath with her first cocktail blue. It was caught just West of Gilgo and her dad had to back down on the Bluefish to get back line on her Barbie fishing pole. The chopper was eventually boated but not after her dad lost his footing and nearly went for a swim.
