Generic photo because I didn't have time to take one. The fishing was hot with 13 fish on plugs and bait to 38 pounds. the run is on.
A date opened up so if anyone wants to fish on October 11th it is available. Long range weather forecast looks good.

I was fishing near a good buddy, Boyd Ridell today. We were plugging the same area and Boyd hooked up with a nice bass. Here he is releasing the fish with a nice smile on his face after a good fight. Boyd is a dedicated and very good fisherman. It was fun to see him doing his thing.
Landing the fish was a little tricky as it got into his engines but he managed pretty well. I thought he was going for a swim for a little bit but he made it just fine. The things we do for a fish!
I had a few on plugs also today. Just a half day of checking things out.

And luckily, after a good 30 minute trek across the Block Island Sound on a 28-foot Triton with twin 250 Merc Verados (which I, Lisa, got to drive!), the crew and "crew" are retiring at The Island Home B&B with owners Nina and David who are currently baking cookies while we warm up with a bottle of red wine. I, Lisa, went false albacore fishing with Skimmer's Tim C. Smith, Northeast Angling's Captain Andy LoCascio and Captain Rich Tenreiro and Paul Mickeley, National Sales Manager from Yo-Zuri. While the day wasn't only successful fish-wise (we caught the falsies, as well as plenty of blues and striped bass), we caught the whole day on film for Northeast Angling's television show. I fished today with Artie Cipoletti and his daughters Corinne on left and Nicole on right, me in background. As you can see, they had a good time catching a striped bass. Nicole angled the fish and Corinne put it in the net.
They were a good team and I only wish the fishing were a bit better so they could have had a bunch of opportunities to ham it up some more. It was a fun day of fishing with lots of bait around but not too many fish.
It was a beautiful day on the water and we all had a good time. The big body of fish is not far away and I expect that in the next couple of days it should happen.
Another memorable day on the water and fishing on the big 38 Fountain is a lot of fun.

I fished today with Fred McKibbin of Grace Bar and Restaurant in Manhattan and his girlfriend Laura. We had an interesting day. It was nice weather and crisp and clear. We caught a bunch of bunker for bait and then fished for bass. We ended up with one nice bass in the low 20's and had some other opportunities that didn't work out. We had a couple of fish up on the plugs but they wouldn't jump on it. All in a day of fishing. It was fun and and unjoyable day. We all had a great time.

We decided to run out to the Hudson and fished the 100 square. We fished Monday night and had 11 Yellowfin up to 80lbs, 1 swordfish 105lbs and had fun with the mahi mahi. We were back at the dock at 10:00am. Fished with Sal Lacasio, Chris Madonia and Gerard Mulle....all relentless bass guys who decided to give the offshore scene a try chunking butterfish and fishing live squid. The Hudson Canyon is alive with fish and bait is plentiful. Live squid worked the best. Used one of your glow bait sticks to draw them closer to the boat, it worked great. Also had a Bimini release on a nice shark. We were aboard Sal's Loco Joe, a smooth riding 30' Grady White. Great time with a lot of laughs. -Gary Arnold
