Here is Bob Rommel with a keeper grouper that we trolled up on the reef. We had some more shorts in the back-country and the weather is warming up real well. Yesterday we did find pilchards for bait and netted a bunch. Today should be a beautiful warm day.

I ran into my friend Gary Sholl last night and he told me he was given a Scallop dredge so this morning we went out with his son Nicholas and dragged up a bunch on nice Scallops. We worked the flats for a couple hours before the rain and the wind started to get the best of us. We had a great time and wound up with a nice bunch.
If you don't have a Dredge you can use a crab net and pick the scallops off the bottom. Make sure you have a good pair of polarized sun glasses because scallops are masters of camouflage.

Captain Al lorenzetti will be back down in Florida around the tenth of February. Al will be primarily fishing the Marco Island area which offers an incredible amount of diversity. The mangroves are home to Snook, Tarpon and even Largemouth Bass... Venture out into the Gulf, Grouper and Large permit can be found. Al will also be fishing the Keys in search of Bonefish and large Tarpon like this one pictured here with Billy Turnbull.
